Anyone who knows me would attest to the fact that I have bats in the bellfrey, and now bees in the attic.
Returned from the dentist yesterday to find bees in kitchen, bees swarming around th apex of roof and live and dead bees on upstairs landing. I don't know what I am in to but know kit could be long and drawn out. Bees are protected. It is hard to find an exterminator who will deal with them. Since Mother is advanced stages of dementia, it will be hard to remove her from home.
I talked to bee man last night and he suggested spraying with insect spray when bees were inactive. I have sprayed the eaves for the last three days. The good news is I found no live bees today either inside nor outside. Am hoping I caught the problem before they had established home in the wall. From what I read, removal of hive and honey can be involved. Failure to remove results in re-infestation problems involving bees and or noxious critters such as mice, rats, ants, etc.
